Our history
UPAL Cooperative Cisternino was established in 1959 when 22 wine producers, gathered on a warm August day, decided to give dignity to their work and the right valor to their products.
Since then we are now more than a 1000 members, all of us with the same goal of creating a dynamic wine cooperative reactive to the economics and our territorial needs.
Itria Valley
Itria Valley area, notoriously located in Puglia in the magnificent setting of the Mediterranean, between the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea, where the Murge gradually slope down towards the Salento plain.
Cisternino
Cisternino overlooks the Itria Valley, rich in olive and almond trees, and trulli: typical buildings with a generally circular plan on the outside, square on the inside, obtained with flat limestone. Still through the use of stones, dry stone walls were built and are still being built today.
